See http://green.onevillage.tv/?p=163 — this short film by John Harrison shows how Irno Pretto Farm in Brazil was transformed by introducing the Integrated Farming and Waste Management System (IFWMS) developed by George Chan of the ZERI Foundation (www.zeri.org). Productivity and biodiversity were increased while generating energy, reducing waste and eliminating pollution.

This Bus Rapid Transit system is very simple and practical. Public transportation consists entirely of buses. There are several different types of bus, each with a different function. All stations are easily accessed and enclosed. The buses have been changed to make for easier entry and exit.[72] Together with other low-cost changes, this bus system aims at becoming a comfortable and preferred transportation choice for the public.

Any genuine solution to climate change requires a transition from industrial agriculture into sustainable family farming.

Industrial agriculture is responsible for more than 50% of emissions; from conversion of forest into mono-culture plantations, high use of fossile fuels to run tractors, machinery, and transporting food among cities and continent, etc. On the other hand, small farmers’ sustainable agriculture contributes to the reduction of emissions and keeps the carbon in the soil.

Speakers include Jahi Chappell, Cornell University.

In gorgeous central Brazil, a rag-tag group of 10000 Mayan calendar followers, bioregionalists, permaculture experts, Rastafarians, alternative health practitioners and NGO executives work towards a do-it-yourself action plan to make the world a better place in 13 days and prepare for 2012. Welcome to “Survivor” for social change addicts, where consensus is the only way to make decisions. Anyone can speak. For as long as they like about whatever they want. And they do. “Call of the Hummingbird” is a fascinating exploration of new paradigm thinking about organizing for social change.
